Jo moved to Marlborough in 2013 with her family and web design business and after settling her family into this new area, started to get involved in the local community and politics in 2017. Jo has been a Marlborough Town Councillor since September 2020 and was the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate in the December 2019 General Election.
Politically, Jo's passions are Education, particularly the provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) and the Environment. She has campaigned to limit school travel times for SEND pupils in Wiltshire and to keep the special school at Rowde, near Devizes. On the Environment, Jo helped to bring together local activists and Lib Dem councillors in their successful bid to get Wiltshire Council to declare a Climate Emergency.
During the COVID pandemic, Jo has been a volunteer Meals On Wheels driver, delivering hot meals to vulnerable residents. Now that we are, hopefully, over the worst of the pandemic, we need to focus and promote a green recovery in Wiltshire.
